Hello Experts,
I have Photoshop 6.0 on Win98SE.

I have some images that I have created in Photoshop 6. Now I want to convert them into Windows Meta Files while preserving their transparent pixels and fine look which they have in PSD format.

Is there any add-in for Photoshop which could convert PSD files to Windows Meta Files (WMF)?

I have searched Google but got no success.

Thank you,

Syed Zeeshan Haider.

Syed,

I’m not sure what may have influenced your decision to make WMF your desired format, but PS doesn’t do WMF because though the format will support raster data, it’s simply not a good format for raster-only graphics.

I would suggest the PNG format…

John,
In fact, I am working on an application development with VB6. I am creating some multi-coloured images for buttons with PS. BMP and GIF are not working according to the expectations. I thought WMF (as it is most referred to format in MS help documents) could do the job. Unfortunately, VB6 doesn’t support PNG.
Do you have any other ideas? Is there any PS add-in available for WMF support?

Thank you,

Syed Zeeshan Haider.

Thanks for response, Dave!

I have created two images in PS. Both are in True Color and need to have large amount of colour information. To make their shapes circular, I have to make some parts transparent. If saved in GIF format, they loose some colour information. If I save them in BMP, I have to Mask some colour to get transparency. Not all controls in VB support MaskColor. In addition, masking a colour can cause the edges of the image to appear in unwanted colours; because of those pixels which are partially transparent in PS. As WMF can preserve transparency and it is well supported in VB, therefore, I wanted to convert images to WMF with PS.

Thanks again!
