Now that I’ve learned a basic amount about using Photohsop, I’ve joined this newsgroup to get pointers from the experts. It’s great! But I have a question — I see the word "OP" being bandied about. From context, I’m tempted to guess it means "Owner of the Photo", or maybe "Operator of Photoshop".
In every field, there is specialized lingo. I see that the never-ending great-debate about ppi vs. dpi is the kind of specialized lingo that differentiates the in-group from the mere amateurs. Kind of like in the legal field; if you spell judgment as "judgement", you get laughed at and critized. Not that anybody fails to understand, of course; but the different spellings serve to create social groupings and a hierarchy.
So, I ask, what does "OP" mean?
