Am currently running ps7.01 on a p4 2.4 with 1gig ram and a soltek motherboard (SL-85ERV2) and XP Home with all service packs reqd. It regularly freezes my entire system with no access to task manager – must turn off and reboot each time.
Have tried all the obvious stuff – deleting pref files, fresh install from CD in safe mode – keeps recurring.
Have read this may be a limitation of the soltek mboard (it’s only about 6 mths old) and will replace it if I need to.
You advice please –
(1) Does this sound right to you?
(2) What sort of mbaord should I get?
(3) My PC store says they will replace the soltek with a MSI 865PE Neo 2 Mboard which they say is top of the line and will work.
Advice greatly appreciated as I’ll replace as soon as I can.
