Hi Group,

Using PS 7.1 and CS
PC has Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99 GHz
2.00 GB RAM
Image size:
Pixel Dimensions: 351.6M
Width: 9600 pixels
Height: 12800 pixels
Document: Size:
Width: 30 inches
Height: 40 inches
Resolution: 320 pixels/inches
Saved as JPEG Quality (12) in a folder
When we try to open the same file (above) we get:
"Could not open (file name.jpg) Because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found"
If we reduce the resolution (250) file can be opened
Any ideas?

Ohan

PS 7/MacOSX doesn’t show this error, and I can’t imagine why the file generated under Windows would be any different. Perhaps a hardware/media issue? Does the error repeat if you change the JPEG file save settings (baseline, standard, progressive, etc.)? Are you able to open it in Imageready?

Thanks for the speedy reply.
We took the same image 30×40 inch (as explained before) and opened with PS CS and saved the same way we did in PS7.1
Saved with PS CS we can open without an error, saved with PS 7.1 we get the error.
Any ideas?

Saved as JPEG…

Why on Earth are you saving that image, which is obviously not intended for the Web, as a JPEG?
