I have managed to shrink / resize about 30 jpegs that were, did I say I did not save the pics first on a disk?, 3008 w X 2000 h to 150 h x 100w. I thot I was making a page of thumbnails for my website. Now that everything is 150 x 100, is there any way that I can enlarge / restore them? I suspect that I have lost all, but still have hope that the learning process won’t be quite so devaatating.

Sorry. You can’t restore them. But here’s a little down and dirty trick – next time use File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery against the folder of original files. It will in turn create a folder of thumbnails as well as other folders. Then just keep the thumbnail folder and throw away the rest of the gallery. Instant happiness. 🙂

Hi Richard,

It’s not possible to fix this problem directly, but there are two possibilities for recovering your files.

If these images were captured recently you may be able to recover them from the camera’s flash card. I use a program called Photorescue- from http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/ . You can run the demo and see what it can recover before buying. There are other excellent programs that do the same thing.

The second, less likely, possibility is running the same program on your hard drive, just in case the original copies of the jpegs are still there. For that matter, any disk file recovery program might locate your originals. —

How do you adjust the size of resultant images & or thumbnails using automated web photo gallery?

Help tells me :-

"To set options for the gallery pages, choose Gallery Images from the Options pop-up menu. Then do the following:
a.. For Border Size, enter the width of the border around the image in pixels.
a.. To have Photoshop resize the source images for placement on the gallery pages, select Resize Images. Then choose an option for the image size from the pop-up menu or enter a size in pixels. For JPEG Quality, choose an option from the pop-up menu, enter a value between 0 and 12, or drag the slider. A higher value results in better image quality but larger file size."

but I can’t find "Gallery Images from the Options pop-up menu"

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Tony

This is confusing but follow my instructions.

When you select Web Photo Gallery a dialog box will open up.

Midway down in the window is the word "Options:" and a box to the right of it. At the end of the box there are arrows. Click on that and it will give you options for entries in the box and attributes for it.

You know you have it when you see entries for General, Banner, Large Images, Thumbnails etc.

Drive Rescue is a good option on this, it’s freeware and can be found at- http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/driverescue19d.html

Unfortunately if you’ve done much work on the machine since deleting the files your chances of recovery are getting slimmer. Also recommend recovering to another HDD if that’s an option.

Good luck

now that’s embarrassing. I’m not even going to say how long I spent looking…I thought there must have been an options toolbar that I had to enable but couldn’t find.

Thanks a lot.
