Hi, I bought by first copy of Photoshop 7 this September (right before the upgrade cutoff date 🙁 ), and have had error messages since installation. Usually what happens is that after about an hour of work, Photoshop gives me this error message: "Disk error-1 occurred while reading or writing to a scratch disk. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable." When I press OK, the program will let me continue to work on the image (or on other images) as long as I don’t touch the layer I was on when the error happened. But if I try to save the image, it tells me it can’t do it. If I try to save (uncuccessfully) and then close the program, it gives me this error message: "Microsoft Visual C++[subject bar] Runtime Library photoshop.exe R6025 –pure vital function call" and then closes the program when I press OK. I have tried to find out what these errors mean and what they are related to, but have had no success. At this point I’ve tested my hard disk for errors and bad sectors several times, updated to the latest versions of Windows XP and Photoshop 7, have updated the graphics driver, and have wasted countless hours trying to find the solution to this problem. I have an HP pavillion series computer. It currently has 8.36 gig of free space out of 18.5, has 240 MB of RAM, and was defragmented both before I installed Photoshop, and several times afterwards. Any help or suggestions about this problem would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for your time.
