Hi

I just seem a little lost in terms of technique and in workflow. I have a drawing that I want to airbrush in Photoshop. It’s of a wave. But I want to try to form a technique so I can apply that to other work of mine.

Can anyone suggest any method they use to input a drawing and then brushing it? What type of pens (drawing) are the best to use? What type of brush in photoshop is good to use? I know it depends of what kind of work you are doing. Does anyone have a favorite setting or brushes to download.

At the moment I am drawing onto paper, scanning into photoshop, creating a new document 300dpi A4, resizeing and composing the drawing, printing this back out, adding some finer details, scanning back in and then trying to block with hard dabs of paint, working this in with and airbrush and trying to texture with dodge and burn.

Should I start with dark and add lighter layers on top? Should I try to block out selections with hard paint and work in? Would Illustrator provide better initial layout?

Any suggestions? Any illustrators out there?

thanks
