Hello All,
Well, I got the new toy today…Photoshop CS is now installed and running. It appears as fast on my "new" dual 500MHz P3 system as PS7 was on my only dual 450MHz P2 system before. Using my test action and test file, where PS7 took 2 min 45 sec to complete my test action with the dual P2 CPUs, it dropped to 2 minutes with the dual P3s. With PS CS, I’m now back to 2 min 45 secs albeit with dual P3s. Oh well, at least it runs and will be usable until I can afford an appropriate system to run it on.
Meanwhile, a cursory look at Extensis PhotoTools 3.06 shows that it does install and appear to work properly with Photoshop CS. That is with regard to the "new" PhotoTools 3.06 which didn’t receive a version roll-up when Extensis updated it for PS7. Doing a simple copy of the plug-in files wasn’t sufficient, as the result was the Extensis menu didn’t appear…reminiscent of the original problems in PS7 that Extensis corrected. But, running the PhotoTools installer looks to have been the solution, as the Extensis menu is in place and all plug-ins are in the menu.
Photobars does work insofar as the availability of the toolbars and their dockability but the mapping is, as expected, due for a revision. So now the work for me begins and I hope to have the Photobars CS supplement ready for release as soon as time permits. Hopefully that will be within 2 weeks unless unexpected problems surface. Availability of Photobars CS will be announced at <http://jazzdiver.com/photoshop>.
Regards,
Daryl
