I’m still running Win98 SE (I know, I know) and I would like to know if anybody has any experience running Photoshop CS using this OS.

Regards,

Rafael

I’ll just add that when I first got PS7 I ran it on a computer that was below the standard in either the OS or CPU or both. And it ran fine. Well, slowly, but fine. IOW, you can’t always go by what the minimum requirements say, but then again, this time they might be correct.

It won’t install, so won’t run.

W2K seems to have some problems with speed issues on some systemes as reported elsewhere here.

W2k sp4 Athlon 1200 mhz 1.5 gb ram, filebrowser set so no background processing, mmx and fastcore extensions removed, spyware cleaned system, up to date video drivers, scratch disk on RAID array; and it still runs noticeably slower than 7.01.

Has there been any progress on this issue from anyone?

The Photoshop CS installer will not run under anything earlier than Win2K. The app won’t run under anything earlier than Win2K. Win2K or later is a hard requirement.

You do mean it’s been Unicoded to not run, right ;-).

It won’t install, so won’t run.

Ah, so it does a check first and decides if it should continue. Thanks for the clarification.
