Just wondering if anyone has any input on what kind of impact, if any, a beefy video card like the 256MB nVidia 5600 has on Photoshop rendering speed versus, say, a 128MB nVidia? Thanks for any help!

Photoshop is a 2D application, and the memory onboard video cards is generally there to speed up 3D texture rendering.

Most of today’s video cards would provide excellent Photoshop performance. Major differences would be around how well 2D was supported (eg, high resolution like 1600 by 1200 plus, or dual monitor support).

thanks, that makes perfect sense… I hadn’t thought about the 2D/3D difference!
