Hi,
I have a font (my logo name) and I’d like it to have a specific ‘texture’ or color to it. I have a picture of an effect I’d like to use, it’s a certain grain of wood.

I know this is possible, I saw once someone had taken text and had it in the color of Abalone(sp?) Shell, it turned out beautiful.

What would I do to get that? I’m sure it’s quite simple, but I can’t seem to figure it out.

TIA

Here’s the site of what I’m talking about:

Are you comfy using Layer Styles?

If so, create a pattern out of your wood image, then use Layer Styles to apply a pattern overlay on your text.

Type your text. Make a new layer, fill it with your texture. Make sure texture layer is on top of text layer and is selected. Hit Ctrl + G and you letters will be textured. You can move the texture layer of text layer around to get the texture just right in the letters.
