Why does PS not support the HSB mode? With LCH in LinoColor or NewColor you can achieve so great results. PS can’t keep up in this issue.

Why does PS not support the HSB mode?

What do you mean "support"? You can certainly choose HSB colors from the color picker. So you must mean something different.

I think he means the mode, e.g. RGB, CMYK, Lab. Sure enough, HSB is not an option. Maybe you should make a feature request.

It used to be an option. HSB has various problems in its implementation. I’ll have to check to see if limited HSB options are available in the goodies directory the way they were with PS7.

the HSL&HSB plugin found on the Photoshop CD in Goodies>Optional Plugins, is a waste of time don’t bother.

It does NOT produce a HSB mode file as the readme suggests, though it does produce channels based on the HS & B of the original colors, but leaves the file in RGB mode, so the preview is whacky.

I mean with "support" that you can work in a LCH like color space. Color picking is no support. It can’t help you with the processing of an image.

Does nobody know LinoColor or NewColor from Heidelberg? With it’s superb qualities of color correction and sharpening? It’s much better than Lab with its useless a- and b-channel. Lab is a good PCS, but it’s not good to work in.
