After running Photomrge in PS8 Layers Palette does not show all Layers.

For example with “Keep as Layers” deselected there is only one layer showing in the palette yet image consists of more than one layer. This is indicated by Image itself, Layer> Flatten Image or Save As dialog.

With “Keep as Layers” selected number of Layers in the palette equals number of merged images yet there is another (transparent) layer in the file.

Is this “by design”? Or possibly something that slipped through the “cracks” of beta testers. No pun intended…of course. 😉
