I am using PS CS in Window XP. After I use the browser for a few minutes, it begins to fail fully redrawing the screen. For example, I click on a new directory and it displays some of the new thumbnails, but parts of the olds ones remain on the screen. Phantom thumbnails appear, meaning that where you see the picture is not where you need to click to open the file.

I am using the latest service packs for Windows. I am using a Matrox G450 card with the latest driver. 1 GIG of ram. 200GB of storage. The machine is a Dell Optiplex that is about a year old. I uninstalled PS CS and reinstalled, with the same behavior. I tried different screen resolutions. I do not have the problem in PS 7. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks. –Scott

try turning down hardware acceleration on the video driver. I think it’s under properties> settings> advanced> performance in win2k (my 2k box is at work, i’m on xp right now). if that clears it up, it’s a driver issue. you indicate you have the latest driver on your system. sometimes it’s necessary to go back one version to avoid a bug introduced in a patch.
