I have PS7 and XP. Despite a font size of 8pt, visible in the options bar and the character pallette, the cursor is HUGE. I’m working on a websize image and one letter fills up the entire image. I try highlighting the text, changing to the smallest font (6pt) and a small change, but I still can’t see the entire letter! I have reinstalled the last Windows SP, reinstalled PS, updated by Nvidia driver, and don’t know what’s wrong. I’m a new PS user. I have a Dell 4550 and a gig of ram. Am I leaving out something?

check to make sure the resolution isn’t some rediculously high number like 7200 instead of 72. (image> image size).

Dave: The image is websized – usually between 100-200k. I resize for the web to 500 pixels on the longest side. I had been using the text tool in PS just fine, and all of a sudden the cursor and font size didn’t match what was set in the character menu. (8pt)

One more thing: the drop down menu on the left side of the options bar, next to the "T" says 24pt myriad Roman. The setting further to the right on the options bar says 8pt and the same in the character menu. Is that the problem? This has happened to me before – a cursor that I can’t control because it’s ridiculously big with a font size showing up I didn’t select. I wonder if I accidently did something that’s causing the problem.

I did change the resolution downward, and that helped, but I had been working just fine with the set resolution before this went ‘haywire.’
