I’m interested to know if is possible to create various shortcut to start photoshop with different configuration, using WinXP and CS

Example:

– Shortcut 1: start PS using 50% memory usage and workspace a – Shortcut 2: start PS using 80% memory usage and workspace b etc…

Thanks for any help

set up your prefrences the way you want.
exit.
copy the prefs file out of application data.
go back in and change the prefs.
copy those out.

create a batch file (or a couple) to copy a specific set of prefs to the prefrences directory and start photoshop.

the prefs are stored in

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings

Also note that the memory usage percentage is stored in the registry (it’s needed before we read the preferences files).

scott, where specifically? then mario can also create a couple of reg files to merge, one for each percentage he needs to use. better to get it from one who knows than to guess about mucking about in the registry.
