I am a beginner web designer. A client emailed me a Powerpoint presentation he wants put on his website. I don’t own Powerpoint but I will find access to it somehow. How would I change the Powerpoint slides to files I can import into my Photoshop 6 on my WindowsXP machine?
Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Create a PDF and open it in Phtotoshop. Save a JPG.

Not at all sure that I can see why you would want to involve PS. From PowerPoint you can output JPEGs of each slide, which you can then build into a Web site using you Web authoring software. Or PowerPoint can actually spit out the whole Web site – HTML, JPEGs, the lot.

Because the resolution sucks when you do that. If you create a PDF, the vectors and text stay as vector in the PDF. You can then open the PDF in Photoshop and make sure things look the way you want them to before saving for the web.

It’s really just a matter of better image control.

But PPT doesn’t have the facility to output PDF directly [does it?].

Anyway, Will has a choice of ways forward …

With help of Acrobat it does (or any other PDF printer driver)

Only if you have Acrobat.
