After I setup my quick mask layer and switch back to view the selection, it appears as though my mask does not exist and the entire image is selected. Where is the setting to correct this?

Thanks in advance,

Ray

You must make the Mask.
After you select or paint you must safe the selection.
Select>Save Selection. Then look at the Channels Palette you will see it there. To use the mask go to Select>Load Selection.

If no part of the quickmask channel is greater than 50% black, then the whole picture will appear to be selected.

The marching ants appear along the 50% threshold in a selection.

Try filling with strong color after exiting QM mode to verify your selection.
