How do I change the preset for New File? It always opens with Clipboard 21 x 552 grayscale. I want it to always open the Photoshop Default Size, 5 x 7.

Photoshop CS Win2K. Thanks.

Neither the manual or online help mention it.

Pope,

Mine will default to the last setting used……

Try this:

Set the dimensions/mode/b/g and rez you want and Save the profile. Do an open >New.

Close the image and exit PSCS.

Re-open PSCS. Select File>New. Has it held?

If there is data on the clipboard Photoshop will default to the clipboard size for new documents. You can purge the clipboard via Edit/Purge/Clipboard.

Many thanks…purge did the trick. I really appreciate the help. I had forgotten I had put a serial number on the clipboard. New software always makes me nervous 🙂
