Using Photoshop7,windows xp pro, 512 ram. I am creating a luminance mask in the rgb composite channel and clicking on save selection button to convert into an alpha channel. I am then inverting the alpha channel and applying a curves adjustment. I then load the alpha channel as a selection and click on a adjustment level in the layers palette. Choosing curves adds a layer mask, and lightens the shadows. So far ,so good. My question is: how do I invert back the alpha channel? Pages 277 & 288 of Martin Evening’s book.

Martins evening’s book on pages 277 & 288 describe a meathod for rescuing shadow detail. He asks that you invert an alpha channel, apply a curves adjustment and load the selection. My question is: How do you "re-invert" the image?
