Can anyone help me?
When in Print Option, if the doc is not centered you have two chioces in the Position Box, Top and Left. Do these choice refer to the top or left of the image as you’re seeing it in Print options, or does it refer to the Top or Left edge of the doc as it comes out the printer?

I would really appreciate any help here. I’m wasting a lot of Ink trying to adjust the image.

Thank you,
Jacqueline

You don’t say which version of PS you are using. I assume 7.

The top of the image is coming out of the printer first. I cannot really see what you’re asking. The accuracy of these numbers will be affected by the "hard" margin applied by your printer.

What are you trying to do?

Thank you Colin,
I’m using PS6.
The image I’m printing is exactly 8.5" by 5.5". I need to print the image at the Top of the page because it will be folded in half after printing. The Top is not my problem, the Left is. When I resize it in Print options one of the side margins is always off. I’ve tried to compensate by adjusting the numbers in the position Box. This sometimes works, but I’d really like to know a tried and true method, if there is any such thing.
Thanks to you I’ll check the Printers ‘Hard’ Margin.
Thank you,
Jacqueline

Does PS 6 have the "center" option?

Yes Colin, it does, but when you check the Center box the image returns to the center of the page.

Does the 8.5 wide image have imagery all the way across the entire 8.5 inches? If so, does your printer support borderless printing? I did a quick little test putting a 8.5×5.5 inch image at the top of a
8.5×11 canvas and it printed in perfect alignment.

Maybe a stupid answer, but if you create your image at 8.5×11 then position your image at the top, I think it would automatically print the way you want it.

Maybe a stupid answer…

Well, if it is, I said the same thing 39 minutes earlier. 🙂

lori, not in 5.5. I think that ability first showed up in ps7.
