dannyboy194,

you’re going to have to help us help you then. Please give us all the information about your system specs, OS etc and which version of PSCS you are running. You can determine that with the Help-> About (I believe) …. just remember DON’T include the serial number!

In that case, you’ll need to post COMPLETE system specs.

Dannyboy,

Open up photoshop CS, go to Help and then System Info. Copy it and paste it into this forum. Just don’t forget to remove your serial number.

Danny,

Please use the System Info item in the Help menu to create a list of details about your system. Copy and paste that data into a message here, but be sure to EDIT OUT your serial number. That will provide more useful information. If you have many plug-ins, you may also want to delete that information for the time being, just to keep the details short.

Regards,

Daryl

If it sounds like too good of a deal, it probably is. Take it back to the store, mention that you know that it isn’t a retail copy, and see what he can do for you.

That version number is a beta version. Unless something wierd snuck through on Adobe’s part, you’ve been ripped off.

I’m afraid not. You should report him to Adobe and to whatever legal authorities you can. As I already said, you’ve been ripped off.

Danny,

There is nothing anyone can do. It’s a beta release, who knows what the issue could be. If you think about it, you are asking for help on a product that was never released – so… as in most situations, caveat emptor.

Danny,

Did you get a bill? If so, you’re on a strong wicket. Tell him to refund the money or you’ll go to the police and Adobe and lay charges against him for piracy.

If you don’t have a bill maybe you’ll just have to try threatening him… how you do that is up to you 🙂 But you can still go to the police and/or the relevant authorities. Personally, i don’t think Adobe will take any action or help you. Despite all their hoopla about piracy i’ve read about too many cases where info has been passed on to Adobe but no action has been taken.

Cheers….
