Hello all,

I’m a photographer at a resort/conference center and need to rotate lot’s of photos. I realize I can set up a batch to do this, but that would involve finding all the photos that need to be rotated, putting them in a specific folder, running the batch then moving the files back to their original folders – which is a lot of trouble with the thousands of photos I have. If it is possible I would love to be able to select a few photos in windows explorer, right click on them and have an option to select ‘rotate photos’. The computer would then open photoshop, open each file, rotate, then save and close the files. Is this to much to ask? I know I can open all the files that need to be rotated and perform the batch on opened files, but this would be much more time consuming.

Thanks for any help!
Brian

Make an action and assign it to an F key.
Then just hit the F key for any image you open.

Brian,

You do know that you can select images from the file browser and run a batch on just those selected images, don’t you?

In file browser you can rotate your selected files, but it doesnt take place until you open the files, although in file browser you will see the image rotated.

I’ve used the file browser rotator, but the file is no longer recognizable in photoshop.

Ohhhh, the file browser in Photoshop! That’s why I was so confused. I don’t use the browser in Photoshop because it is slow to load my images because of their size. That makes sense to use it though. I also just discovered ‘droplets’ I never knew what these where – but I just realized that they make a program using an action – which can be run be right-clicking on a photo and selecting the droplet program. This is what I was wanting (except it doesn’t seem to work on multiple files selected).

Thanks for all the help!

Also note that with the File Browser in Photoshop CS, you can set up the rotation on a bunch of images, then use the "Apply Rotation" command to do that in one step.
