Sometimes when using brushes(rubber stamp, healing brush etc.) in photoshop 7.0, the cursor is an "I" beam symbol instead of the brush tool. I reinstalled the program but this still happens. Any suggestions?

This happens to me on rare occasions too. It happens most when I move the cursor off the canvas to select something and then when I move it back onto the canvas, it doesn’t change. I have found that if I click on the edge of the canvas or the title bar, it will return to what it is supposed to. This doesn’t explain the strange cursor action but gets it back to where it should be.

I think your caps lock may be on. I had a similiar problem and couldn’t figure it out. Usually the healing tool was a circle and then it was a + symbol. Caps lock was on! Hope that was the problem.
