I’ve searched this forum and on the web and there are several tutorials or tips on how to batch convert, but none of them seem to apply specifically to what I’m trying to do and I am thoroughly confused. Please help!

I have approximately 100 pictures that I have scanned in and saved in PSD format. I would like to simply convert all of them to JPG files. No cropping, no color management, nothing but a change of file format from PSD to JPG. Is there a way to do this without opening every single file and doing a "Save As"?

No matter which version of Photoshop since 5.5. Create an ending folder for your Jpegs. Create your action on a test image using Save For Web (if the images are for a web site) and save it into the new folder you created. Then close the test image and save the changes. That’s where your action is finished. Now you can either run the action as a batch pointing to the folder of images, or create a Droplet and drag and drop all the images onto it. Either way, the images will be batch processed. I always recommend working on a folder of duplicate images. If you want to resize the images, make sure to resize and add UnsharpMask to the test image while creating the action.

Try creating an action for "Save as JPG" and use the Automate>Batch function to process your PSD files. You can also create a droplet from this action and place it on your desktop and process your files that way. I used this same process about 20 minutes ago, it’s fast and easy to do.
