CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND WHAT ELEMENTS ARE MOST IMPORTANT FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE OF PHOTOSHOP; CPU SPEED, RAM, HARD DRIVES, SCRATCH DISC, ETC.
COST NOT CRITICAL. I WANT A SYSTEM WITH MINIMAL DELAYS WHILE WORKING ON AN IMAGE. THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS!

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

CPU SPEED, RAM, HARD DRIVES, SCRATCH DISC, ETC.

Yes. 🙂

COST NOT CRITICAL.

Then get the best you can afford.

I have built a number of computers, including the one I now use. Even so, my next computer I will buy from <http://www.buyabs.com/> also known as ABS Computers. They have super ratings from resellerratings.com. I bought a computer for my secretary from these guys and the thing is bullet-proof! Price was great, machine is rock solid.

Unlike Dell and many of the other big computer companies, the ABS machines are easily upgraded as faster stuff comes out.

Best buy for your money is ABS. I’m not affiliated with them and I could care less where you buy. Good luck.

Hey Wilson! I bought my last system from buyabs! Loved em! GREAT company. GREAT CS (edit: CS in the "old" sense – Customer Service! <g>). GREAT machines! There wasn’t as much leeway w/the barebones systems though so I went w/googlegear for this one. (Maybe now regretting that as they seem to have changed hands).

Yes, an ideal system would include a working CAPS LOCK key on the keyboard.

The best system for Photoshop is

Tyan Thunder K8W dual opteron motherboard
Opteron 2 Ghz
8 Go RAM
RAID 0 SCSI 4 drives for scratch disk
RAID 0 SCSI or Serial ATA for "C"

In Relief’s config, you have to read 2 each Opteron 248 (2.2ghz) For the raid 0 the 4 drives are 15Krpm ones.
For serial ata, the 74 Go WD Raptors
A SCSI ramdisk might be a good addition…

Of course, only if price doesn’t matter…
