Photoshop CS, Win2K, 784MB RAM
Photoshop pauses for .5 – 1 second after opening an image, but before you can do anything with it – the only visual indication that anything is happening during this pause is the absense of thumbnails in the channels palette – I have mine set to display the smallest size, which has never been a problem in the past (and turning them off actually seems to make the pause longer!).
It’s not a showstopper but it’s becoming annoying when working on a large number of images. Previous versions never paused like this… is this happening to everyone, or is it something specific to my system?
