What is the optimal solution for image interpolation in Photoshop CS? Bicubic,
Bicubic Smoother or
Bicubic Sharper

Thank you!

That depends on your image, and how you’re resampling it.

That’s why there are options.

chris, can you go over the cases for each again? I promise to cut and save your response this time! Pretty please?

is it something like

Bicubic for standard transforms
Bicubic Smoother for downsampling and
Bicubic Sharper for upsampling?

pretty please? 🙂

Dave –

Bicubic for simple transforms
Bicubic smoother for upsampling
Bicubic sharper for downsampling

But that is only a rough guideline – some images may do better with other choices.
