I’m in the process of setting up a new computer and want to know if there is a way in which I can transfer all my Photoshop preferences, custom brushes, fills, etc. to the new computer. That is there a set of files / folders that I can copy across. Thanks

Gerry,

Copy the whole of the photoshop folder over from the old machine and then install over the top of it.

Save your colour settings to a .CSF file from Edit>Colour Settings>Save on your old machine – that will save your colour settings in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Adobe\Color\Settings. Copy it to the same location on your new machine and in your new install LOAD it from the Edit>Colour Settings d/box.

You will still need to reset your other preferences unless you also copy your Preference files from c:\Documents and Settings\~username\Application Data\Photoshop\7.0
