Can you copy an imagemap from one psd to another psd?

I created some imagemaps for a menu option on a site. I have multiple pages of the site that I had already made, is there anyway to copy the imagemaps from one document to another.

Wouldn´t it be easier to copy the layer content of one file into another with the map?

Yes i did that, but it was a tool based slice not a layer based slice, the tool based slice is what I want to copy over. Do you think it would just be easier to make it a layer based slice, copy it to each of the files and then promote it to a layer based slice?

Only by copying the source code from one HTML doc to another, or copying both image and code in a visual HTML editor such as GoLive or Dreamweaver.

Remember that an imagemap consists of a SINGLE image and a bunch of HTML code which are only loosely related. (which makes me wonder why you are talking about ‘slices’)

I was going to say, just replace the mapped image with another of identical size in the HTML. That’s all there is to it. But you’ve already had other people tell you that.

If you’re slicing the image, it’s not mapped. You assign code to each slice as a separate image.

On the home page of my web site, I have a single image made up of 49 smaller images in Photoshop. Each of the 49 small images has been mapped to their respective galleries:

I’ve successfully replaced individual smaller sections of the image in Photoshop, resaved as an optimized Jpeg with Save For Web, and replaced the image in the images folder and the image map still works exactly as it did on the previous image.
