maybe this has been brought up in another post, but i could not find it.

there seems to be an error in photoshop when you multiply a layer on top of other layers and then take down the opacity or fill of the layer, where you get these vertical black lines through that multiply layer. it is only an occasional problem and i have only seen on it on the PC. or when i open files that we created on a mac where it was not a problem, open it on a pc and you see the lines.

even when you flatten the file you still have the lines.

is this something that is being (or is) fixed?

I am running photoshop 7 on a dual 2.2 ghz p4 with 2 gigs of ram. i believe i have seen this on many other pcs in the past a well, so i dont think its a computer specific problem, more like a problem with the software for pcs.

any help is appreciated. tks in advance.

Seems like a parallel agorithm for dual CPU has a bug. I cannot reproduce the effect on my PC.

A had a similar problem with my own plugin, wich used SSE2 to process image with a prallel algorithm. It leaved vertical lines of pixel unprocessed, when image had certain size in pixels 😉
