Hello,
I’ve been looking to upgrade to CS, have been using 6.0 since it came out. Can someone give me a reason why every computer shop and camera shops that carries software has 7.0 for PC and the upgrade, full CS for PC, full CS for Mac and the CS upgrade for Mac, but no CS upgrade of PC?! Sure you can get it online, but I don’t like shopping online too much. Is this some kind of tactic to draw more web traffic for Adobe?

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

Buy the 7.0 upgrade and get the CS upgrade from Adobe for the price of shipping. BTW, you can just call Adobe and buy from them without going on line.

I got the PS CS upgrade for Windows at PC/Mac Mall three weeks ago. Paid for it in the store it was FedExed from their warehouse within an hour and at my door next morning.

Me neither, too. That identity-theft fad is a major bummer.

An easy way to loose a customer:

I can share an example of something that happened to me with an Adobe competitor: ULEAD. I have been a user of their "cool 3D" for a long time. I have been using their version 2.0 for a number of web site animated GIFs. About a month ago, I received a "bundled" 3.0 SE version with something else (their Video Studio) that I had purchased. I read the "Readme" files which told me that the big difference with the "SE" edition was that I would be missing some of the textures and such that were in the regular version.

Start to install. OH, NO. You must remove previous versions first. OK, off to never-never land went my old 2.0 version. Installed and fired up the new 3.0 SE version. Loaded a few of my older files and modified them a bit. HUMM, the export as a "animated GIF" option was grayed out. No way that I could get an animated GIF file. STRIKE 1! A email to ULEAD support produced: "Some of the copies do not have the animated GIF feature as it was too costly to include in the SE edition". STRIKE 2, now you insult my intelligence!

And the crowning glory (STRIKE 3) that lost me as their customer. I reinstalled. version 2.0 Oops, any file that I had used in that dang version 3.0 was now unreadable and unusable.

RELEVANCE? So far I have talked to Adobe customer service and FAXed the copy of my sales receipt that will qualify me for the "free" (minus shipping costs) upgrade to "CS" three times to Adobe. The last time I requested email conformation. That was a week ago. I have not heard from them again. Is Adobe going to join ULEAD on my list of nasty suppliers? In my 3 conversations to Adobe customer support, all I hear is "I can’t understand why they did this" (relating to my Case #s and order). I have yet to hear what really should be said, "I will take care of this for you and get back to you". (and, of course, it actually happens).

I trust amazon with my credit card way more than I trust joe pimple working at walmart.

jerry, this is a user to user forum. all you’re doing is pissing people off. we are not adobe. we are borg. you will be assimilated (and taught to spell).

Me neither, too. That identity-theft fad is a major bummer.

I’d sooner use the internet, which will take my info and break it up into billions of pieces and mix it with the other billions and billions of pieces of info floating around, than send a piece of paper in an envelope which anyone could grab and open.

I’ll go out on a limb…again…and guess that most identity theft is not the result of online transactions.

I’m guessing Dave saw something before it was deleted by one of the forum hosts.

Dave…

Something here is not making sense…

In your first reply to Jerry you quoted, "That identity-theft fad is a major bummer.", and replied, "jerry, this is a user to user forum. all you’re doing is pissing people off. we are not adobe. we are borg. you will be assimilated (and taught to spell)."

Seen the posts… the comment about identity theft was from r_harvey. Jerry was basically talking about hassles with ULEAD and his upgrade (free PSCS) problems with Adobe. Didn’t run thru his post with a toothcomb, but no obvious spelling mistakes came to mind.

Have also been to the forums and checked the thread… seems ok… except for a comment from the forum host about large type having been removed…

Therefore, am totally in the dark about what you were getting at….

Cheers…

The title uses the word "loose" and I think he meant "lose". The kind of easy mistake that a spell checker would not pick up as both are valid words. Not sure if it is worth hanging the guy about. Don’t we all make mistakes from time to time.

Please note I did not say I did not agree with the other comments about the post.

no i wasn’t. i was hanging him for the fact that he posted the same junk in multiple threads. maybe I misquoted, not clearing my clipboard right or something. i didn’t even think I quoted there, but hey IIRC it was about 3am! 🙂

I called Adobe this morning. The guy at Adobe made a couple calls and realized that the south Michigan region has a bunch of monkeys running their software distribution center(s). Apparently all these computer stores get their supply from the same place. This place couldn’t tell the difference between Photoshop CS Upgrade for PC and Adobe Creative Suite Upgrade for PC. Hmm and I’d be willing to bet whoever is in charge at this company has a college education too (no offense to college grads here).

Anyways, the guy at Adobe was very helpful for doing this and offered to set me up with the PS CS upgrade for $139 over the phone. Because of his effort and willingness to help I gladly accepted. He was quite surprised too that something like this would happen. So Wednesday I’ll have Photoshop CS.

Sorry about the extra "o" in lose.

Dave, I posted the message EXACTLY TWICE. The second time was when I found a more correct thread to place it in. By the time I got back to the first, I could not get rid of it. Reply #76 of "Disgusted with USA…. and reply #6 in this thread. If you can find more, good luck. Off my back please, and have your bad hair day elsewhere.
