I’ve found a very anoying problem with Photoshop 7.01 – but only on Pentium 4 computers. When I open pictures in photoshop, small or large, I experience a very long loading-time (12-15 seconds which is NOT normal!!). We have different kinds of computers at the office (we work with computer graphic) and I’ve tested the program on Pentium 3 & 4 computers. The problem does not appear at all on Pentium 3 computers. (I’ve also tried to install Photoshop 5.5 on a Pentium 4 computer, and the problem did not appear!!)
My conclusion is that Photoshop 7 only has this problem working on Pentium 4 computers (tested on a Dell dimension 8300/P4/ 2800 mhz and P4 3 ghz/Asus P4C deluxe board/ATA/SATA disks with 2 gb ram – winXP). I’ve tried EVERYTHING to solve the problem, but nothing helped at all… I guess an upgrade is the only way out?
Hope you can help me! 🙂

Have you checked network connections? Maybe it’s trying to do a refresh. Make sure all drives are connected and all network printers are on line.

Thank you.. but I’m afraid this particular problem doesn’t have anything to do with the network connections. All the pictures I load are located locally…

but the app still may be trying to verify connections. check them.
