I have run into two problems is CS (Windows 2000 Pro) that did not exist in 6.0/6.0.1. I skipped PS7, so I have no idea whether these problems existed there.

Problem 1:

I have actions that take my jpg files from my digital camera, run NeatImage Pro on them (based on ASA), the store them as PSD files in a different folder.

When they are opened in Photoshop CS, the get the missing profile dialog, even though I have the "suppress Color Dialog" box checked. I am currently sitting here while I process 34 files (5 minutes each), because I can’t go anywhere or the process stops waiting for my reply.

My default is to Assign my camera’s profile, then convert to the Working color space, so I can’t just turn off the warning in the Color Settings.

This worked fine on PS6.

Problem 2:

I used an existing working-space profile and modified the gamma then saved it in Photoshop CS. Unlike PS6, CS saves profiles as ICCs, not ICMs. The problem is that the profile then shows up as CustomRGB (and is inserted into my images by that name too). If I drop the list down to select the new profile by name, it does not appear. So, I did a load profile, which once again shows up as CustomRGB.

I then opened PS6, recreated the profile (as an ICM this time), then switch back to CS. Sure enough, the profile is now there and shows up correctly in my images under the name I gave it.
