When the battery finally quit on the old APC Network Power Cell, I replaced it with one running PowerChute. I have had to inch the upper voltage limit up from the 124 I changed it to, to keep from going onto battery for extended periods of time. (The 1000 unit is only good for 18 minutes with the 19 inch monitor.)
In the two weeks I’ve had it, it has forced a hibernate once and, as of yesterday afternoon, gone onto battery 99 times. Each time it was due to over voltage. I currently have the cut off at 131 volts. As I recall, APC has a default setting of 134, the maximum available. Is that a safe level or do I need to try complaining to the power company?
Is it a viable option to replace the battery in the old UPS and have it feed the new one? This may/should let me lower the over voltage limit a volt or two.
Thank you,
Bill
