Adjustmentlayers and XP

I´m using adjustmentlayers i Photoshop and when i double-click for example curves which is one of my adjustmentlayers photoshop dies. It doesn´t answer. Any suggerstions.

info about your system would be helpful, but anyway. try creating a new file, create an adjustment layer (curves) and save the file. reopen it and doubleclick the curves. If PS does not die again, your original file is damaged. If PS dies again, close PS down and go and have a look for the PS preferences file. It is called "Adobe Photoshop 7 Prefs.psp". Find it, delete it and relaunch PS. Try same procedure with a new file again. It should work (hopefully).

I feel like a fool for forgetting the prefsfile. I just started to aquainte me with xp. i´m cooming from macintosh so my brain goes on 100% xp.
