I have photoshop7 running on a p4 3gig , 1 gig ram. win xp home. The program runs fine in all aspects except for this.
When I click on file browser the program crashes. (xp box pops up and says ‘Photoshop has encountered a problem and will shut down’.

I have tried re installing a few times and also some sysytem restores but it’s still the same.

Any ideas, any help much appreciated.

Cheers, movieman

Movieman,

I don’t believe a reinstall of PS will overwrite any existing preferences. Assuming that is correct, another step to try is resetting your preferences to the defaults, by holding down CTRL+ALT+SHFIT during the startup of PS, and selecting the option to reset your preferences. I don’t know why that so often seems to resolve problems, but it often does.

Good luck,

Daryl

Thanks for the suggestion Daryl but it hasn’t done the trick. I am now baffled????. It is not the end of the world as everything else seems to work fine but it’s a pain when I wan to browse a folder within PS.

Any body else got an idea??
