Hi all, not sure if this is a bug or not, but it sure seems like one:

In PSCS, my "SignPainter" font is only showing 2 different "font styles": AdArt and HouseSlant. Quitting PSCS and loading Photoshop 7.0, I get all 8 styles.

I reset my Photoshop CS Prefs file and this did not fix the problem.

The font is House Industries’ "Sign Painter Kit": <http://houseind.com/house.php?kit=SIGN-FO>

Check the FAQ on font problems. You may have to delete a font.lst file.

search for and delete all copies of adobefnt*.lst on your system. they’ll be recreated next time you start an adobe app.

I tried that and it didn’t work.

I searched the FAQ but it seems messed up, it just kept giving me a bunch of messages all named the same. I didn’t see anything in there about this problem.

Len,

Thanks for the link. The FAQ makes it sound like this is a PS6.0 issue only. I’m experiencing the problem in CS, but not 7.0.

In fact, I’m curious, becuase Photoshop 7.0 shows all the fonts fine with no problem … did something change from 6 to 7 and then change back in CS?

Regards,

Hanford

Handford,

PSCS has a completely new font engine, but the FAQ would still apply if that IS the problem (as it would also in PS 7.x)
(and I’m afraid I’m not going to spend $150 to check out that particular font family for you here <g>)

Len,

The problem was corrected after changing the fnt.lst file and setting it to read-only. Do I have to make this editable when I add new fonts?

I found it weird that the FAQ question references photoshop 6, and 7 worked fine for me, but CS does not.

Handford,

Do I have to make this editable when I add new fonts<<

Yes, or the new fonts will not be available to Adobe applications – having changed your active fonts you will probably have to re-edit the adobefnt*.lst file again too…
