Strange thing happening. LCD monitor (calibrated manually), WinXP pro, PS CS.
Pictures opened in PS are MUCH darker than normal. Same image opened in irfan view or Windows viewer is what is should be normally. Images that I know previously looked bright and normal are all too dark in PS. This applies to the RAW image – straight from the camera, the converted image (converted using C1LE), and the thumbnails in browser. The pics are embedded with the Adobe RGB profile (except for RAW of course); PS color space is set to Adobe RGB.
I even reset the prefs file and created a new one. Still no good.
Seems like PS is somehow changing the gamma of the images it opens, ‘cos if I brighten the image, the colors are normal.
Anyone else with this problem? I could reinstall PS but then I don’t want to go over the activation issue again. I posted this message over on the NAPP forums too, as I am getting desperate. Cannot use PS if images are not ‘normal’ to begin with.
