I’m a beginner dummy. I would like to get some general, first time overall understanding of Photo Shop, Photo Shop Elements and Photo Album and I learn best with tutorials. All of the tutorials that I can find (even those for beginners) seem to start somewhere in the middle.
Does any one know of a simple tutorial for first time beginners which starts at the very beginning and leads, step by step (1. 2. 3. 4. etc.) through the production of what ever it is that Photo Shop, Photo Shop Elements and Album are supposed to do?
Also, I don’t understand Forums. If someone answers this, where will I find the answer and how can I have it e-mailed to my address?

You are correct, most tutorials assume a basic understanding of the software. But there are still a lot of introductory software overviews.

If you are just getting started you may want to see if a local college offers some sort of 1 day training class, these courses are usually very inexpensive. In some cases stores like Comp USA, Best Buy, Circuit City, Etc… will offer free courses in an effort to sell software.

Another option would be to order training videos.

As for web sites here is a basic one < http://www.pegaweb.com/tutorials/beginners-guide-adobe-photo shop/> I found doing a quick google search. There are thousands of tutorial sites just keep looking and I am sure you will find some that are right for you.

I as well as many other people here learned through trial and error, with the help file close at hand, before the internet had all the resources it does today. I think it is sad when people want so much handed to them in a day and age where everything is literally available at your fingertips.

Thank You

The site you sent looks like just what I was looking for. What did you enter in your search to find it?
I’m also new to forums.
Do you know of a tutorial for forums?

jmdraft,

Welcome to the Forum!

What did you enter in your search to find it?

Google Search String < http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8& oe=UTF-8&q=%2Bbeginner+%2Bphotoshop+%2Btutorials&btn G=Google+Search>

Do you know of a tutorial for forums?

It looks like you have that part figured out. Are you using the web site or a news reader? I would recommend the web site <http://www.adobeforums.com> for new users, it should be easier for you to navigate.

Thank You but i don’t think i have anything figured out. I don’t know what a "news reader" is.

I would like to see all the responses to my postings in one place or get them all sent to my email.

Is either of these possible?
