Hello,

I hope someone can help me. I’ve recently upgraded to XP from prof. After doing this I installed Photoshop 6.

On opening I get a message saying I don’t have the adobe system font. Then a message saying that the action folder is missing and subsequently has no actions.

It gets worse, then when I use it, I only have about 6 Filters and at no time can save for the web. Any ideas? It used to install fine on 98 and prof.

I tried a complete uninstall, and cleared all related Photoshop and image ready files off my system. But it’s the same every time.

I would really appreciate any advice…

thanks

Andy

What is prof? Win2K, perhaps? If you’re referring to any other operating system, I hope it was a clean install and not an upgrade on top of the previous O/S.

andyainley,

It is always best to do a clean install with an OS. Your best bet would be to backup your data and reformat. You will be much happier with how your system performs.

That being said you should still be able to install PS6. The fact that we are talking about PS6 suggests that it was installed before the upgrade, but if it was you shouldn’t have needed to reinstall it.

Quite likely. Clean install is the best bet and will save you time and aggrivation down the road.

I don’t have the link handy, but Adobe does suggest a clean install of the operating system. For those hellbent on doing an upgrade they suggest uninstalling all Adobe apps and then reinstalling.

If you’re going to go through all that you might just as well do a clean install anyway.

Back up all of your data and do a clean install of XP.
