I was using an action commands …

It was pretty simple …

I told it to –

– alter the size of the image
– change from cmyk to rgb
– used a filter
– save for web

I played this on one folder, and saved to a fresh folder. It worked perfectly. Then I tried to play this on a new folder. It completey BUGGED out. It said it had accomplished, and looking in the results folder it was empty! So I played it again, and it said it was overwriting the first set!

Very weird … The only way I could get it to work again is by recreating the action from scratch. …. worked …

THEN … I played the NEWLY REMADE ACTION on a 3rd folder … Same thing! BUGGGGG Y. I had to delete it and remake it for the 3rd time to get it to work. I tried to screen shot it, but PS wouldn’t let me.

Using Save for Web your destination folder in the Batch d/box will NOT be respected.

Your images will be saved to the last destination used by Save for Web.

So you are basically saying you cannot use the "Save for Web" command within an action? So I would have to recreate this action for lets say like 10 folders of images?

Doesn’t that seem like a bug?

Correct me if I am wrong …

Try this instead…

Replace the Save for the Web step in your action and record a File > Save As… step in its place. Specify the .jpg characters in that dialog. Don’t worry about the folder or filename specified.

In the File > Automate > Batch dialog, choose a destination folder of choice AND check ON the "Ingore Action Save As…" command checkbox. Sounds bass ackwards, but it works.

No. Before running the batch, just do a save for web to the folder you want to have as the target folder….
