Now, go to :
1) <http://www.sheencal.com/Badge%20button.gif>
Notice the 2 ‘sheens’ at the top-left and bottom-right of the black circle. I mean, those 2 whitish reflection rays of light on the black circle. Got it? 🙂
2) Now, go to : <http://www.sheencal.com/Sample1.gif>
Compare this with the previous image. It sucks! :p(I did this 2nd image myself)
Now, the problem is : how do I create those ‘sheens’ like in the first image? I believe the standard Layer Effects cannot achieve this(I’m using PhotoShop 6.0)…..so the only way is through handmade-highlighting.
I’ve tried, but for some reason, the effect looks really fake or unnatural. Does anyone has some tips on how to achive the sheens in image 1?
Thanks a lot! :):)
