My visit to this forum is sponsored by a "Quick Tour" I saw on the Adobe site regarding Photoshop.

One of the features touted during the short tour is "Text on a path", which quickly buzzes by on the video (without explanation) and shows a curved path being drawn and the text being laid down on the curve of the path. I have Photoshop 7 and I can find nothing related to this feature.

Is anyone familiar with how to put text on a path?

Many thanks,

Jim Ross

One upgrades to Photoshop CS in order to do it that way.

to write text on path, simply just create the path with pen tools then choose the text tools, or press T on keyboard to text tools then click on the path selection you want to start text with. easy isnt it?

Thank you for the feedback. I am not able to accomplish the text on path by following your directions 🙁 I don’t want to give up though! I must be missing something. Can you provide a few more instructional details?

You said you had PS 7. PS 7 doesn’t have text on a path capabilities.

But the previous post seem to say is possible? I couldn’t make it work.

We are about to upgrade to PS 8. I suppose I’ll find it there!

Thanks again,

No. It’s not possible without typing one letter at a time and rotating it. Text on a path in earlier versions of PS must be done using a plugin or by creating the text in Illustrator or Corel Draw and saving as EPS and then importing the EPS into your PS document.

BTW, PS CS is PS 8.
