I am using Photoshop 7 (Windows XP) and am saving the mask that I have performed on a selection as an alpha channel and saving it permanently in a new document. Currently, I can only save this in a psd format. Can I save this as a jpeg file as it will be imported in a 3D CAD program. (Cinema 4D).

Anne,

The JPEG file format doesn’t support alpha channels or ANY form of transparency. How about using TIFF?

if your using this for like a bump map or something just save it as a TGA or JPG that should be fine.
