I typically use Outlook Express for viewing and whatnot the forums I use. Besides, the way that Adobe has their forums set up, I find not very useful and or manageable. Although I use OE, I am having a problem and was hoping someone in this forum could help. Every time I try to send a message with OE to the PS forum, I get this error and I does not send:

Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject ‘Anyone used this:?’, Account: ‘adobeforums.com’, Server: ‘adobeforums.com’, Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: ‘441 posting failed – date out of range’, Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9

All of my other forums work, just not the Adobe ones. Please help if you can. Thanks.

This is not an e-mail forum, it’s a web based forum. You need to click on the link and go to the web site to post, or reply.

Server Response: ‘441 posting failed – date out of range’

Is the date and time set correctly on your computer? According to the error message, it seems that it isn’t. You’ll also have to tell OE your user name and password to the Adobe forum if you want to post to the forum with OE (or any other newsreader).

Larry,

That’s not correct. While it is web based you can also access via a newsreader. I know because I’ve been doing that way for years.

As for the original problem, I don’t know, I’m not having any problems here.

I stand corrected. That’s because I’ve never used any other way to read and post….

How exactly do you do it? I can read (they are mirrored on the news server I use), I can even post but the messages are not relayed to the Adobeforums?

This error does indeed indicate an authentication error – typically for MS products, the actual error message is misleading.

I haven’t used Outlook Express to read news for a very long time, but I seem to recall if you go to the server properties dialogue box, there is an option to enter a username and password (use the ones that you have to access the web based forums).

I hope this isn’t an answer to my question, as I am using Agent.
