Text is dropped when using PS 7 and CS during edit process. This makes it very difficult to edit text. Using Windows XP, 1.5 Gig of Ram, P4, 2.66 GHz.

Explain this a little more.

Text is drawn in the "background" while typing, since drawing text through multiple layers, blending modes, and effects can be slow. This means that in some cases, you can get quite far ahead of the text appearing, especially on slower machines. Stop typing for a few seconds – does it catch up?

If you change layer visibilty so that the type layer is the only one visible, the text can appear faster. Also, consider entering longer sections of text at a smaller size and scaling up afterwards. Since it’s type, it will scale like that without damage.
