When I purchased my 10D I received a copy of Elements 2. I have some hard disk shortage problems and wish to remove one or the other. Apart from Elements having better EXIF data I cannot find anything in Elements that I cant do with Photoshop 6. Can anybody enlighten me as to any features in Elements 2 that aren’t in Photoshop 6. Off course another option is to buy a further hard drive, but cash is short at the moment (all seems to go on new lenses etc for the 10D)
Looking forward to informed assistance.

Regards

Elements 2 supports stitching and has some red-eye removal stuff not in PS6. Otherwise, not much else I can remember.

i think that pretty much covers the "what’s missing" from PS6 – but a better question is ‘what’s missing from elements’ and that’s a lot! compared to PS6. levels ( other than ‘auto’), curves, actions and a fair list of others. even if you put the "hidden elements" tools in, it still isn’t as powerfull as PS6.

Huh??? Manually adjustable "Levels" was in Elements 1.. Under Enhance/Brighness&Contrast/Levels. Same eye dropper white, black, gray set, and R/G/B levels sub levels. It just wasn’t where a PS user would expect it to be. I would be very surprised if it was removed in version 2. But is IS lacking the ability to save and load levels presets.

it’s there – but it’s darn well hidden. i just don’t use elements enough to remember how.
