Just install CS. It is a seperate entity than 7.

You can use both of them at the same time if you wish.

I recently upgraded to CS on a Mac and found it be be very sluggish. I had installed Version Cue and this seems to have been the problem. When I disabled Version Cue, Photoshop 8 ran as fast and as easily as 7. Don’t know if this is what is causing your problems, but I hope it helps.

Feivel: the CS version has lots of advantages for photographers: 16 bit adjustment layers, shadow highlight adjustments (that are better than trying to do it with curves), photo filters, more up and downsizing algorithms, healing brush can be in new layer, etc. FWIW, I haven’t encountered any stability problems with PS CS.

Philo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where have you been?????

can i bring a message from you to the dpreview retouching forum?

thanks, i know about the cs advantages, am particularly interested in the 16bit capabilities, but have heard so many reports of crashes and especially slowing
think what ill do is to try it out first, that’s why i asked this question, to see if it was revertable if i DID have problems
great to hear from you again

Feivel,

It’s a rather large download but, the trial version for CS is available now. Get it HERE < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=3 9&platform=Windows>

Might as well give it a shot for yourself first eh?
