I am running Win XP with 2.4 Pent.4, and 512 RAM, and Photoshop 5.5 I have 2 hard drives, one at 80 gig with 10gig partitioned for WinXP and another 20 gig drive that is currently empty.
My scanner has updated drivers and works with Microsoft Pict. editor, but my Photoshop says the scanner is not connected, and Please check the cable. When I click on that message, I get a message that says, "Could not open the TWAIN source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in the Windows directory".
When I try to open a .gif file it says "Could not load alert resource" When I try to import a small movie into ImageReady, the program freezes.

And and idea as to why a program would not let me scan a 5×6 picture at a very high resloution??

thanks for any feedback..
Paul

Ooops, I forgot to add that I did uninstall all the scanner drivers before installing the new drivers.

Try deleting your prefs file – details in the FAQ at the top of this forum’s Topic List.

If that doesn’t fix it, un-install Photoshop from C\Panel Add/Remove programs, delete the whole of the Photoshop Application folder tree and re-install
